Even with just a silhouette, the changes stand out: thinner headlight designs sit alongside an illuminated kidney grille, suggesting a careful design evolution rather than a complete redesign.

This update focuses on the current G70 generation introduced in 2023. Instead of launching an all-new model, BMW seems to be refining the existing look to keep in step with the brand’s latest styling cues.

The 7 Series retains its signature split headlights, though the upper elements appear slimmer and more sharply contoured.

The prominent kidney grille remains central but now features a glowing outline, adding to the car’s nighttime presence.

Beyond the visual updates, the refreshed 7 Series is expected to bring substantial tech upgrades.

According to industry insiders, BMW’s Panoramic iDrive system could make its debut here—a next-gen infotainment setup that stretches across the dashboard with a wide panoramic display paired with a central touchscreen.

This system promises deeper digital controls and might even include a new three-dimensional head-up display projected directly in the driver’s line of sight.

If this pans out, it would place the 7 Series firmly within BMW’s latest digital cockpit architecture, keeping it competitive against other luxury executive saloons that increasingly emphasise tech.

This is especially relevant in markets like the UK, where these flagship cars often serve as chauffeur-driven vehicles as well as executive transport.

In such settings, infotainment and digital features have grown to be just as crucial as performance or ride comfort.

Mechanical updates haven’t been confirmed yet. The current lineup already covers petrol, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric powertrains, including the i7, so the facelift is likely to continue along this path rather than overhaul the drivetrain offerings.

While the teaser leaves many questions open, its timing suggests the full reveal is near—likely within weeks, possibly as soon as next month.

Contrary to initial plans, this new model will not be exclusively electric. Instead, it will come with both traditional internal combustion engines and fully electric options.

The Little G is intended to be the entry-level option in the G-Class lineup.

The decision to offer both engine types comes after changes in global demand and slower sales than anticipated for the electric G-Class.

Mercedes’ CEO, Ola Källenius, has stated that the company will continue to sell traditional engine models well into the 2030s, and the Little G is a reflection of this revised strategy.

The Little G is designed to compete with JLR’s upcoming Defender Sport, as well as other tough newcomers like the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ and Ford’s Bronco, which will be built in Europe.

Instead of using the same architecture as future electric sedans and SUVs, the Little G will be built on its own ladder-frame platform.

According to Mercedes’ tech chief, Markus Schäfer, it is important for the Little G to feel authentic, with many unique parts and body panels.

The gasoline-powered version of the Little G is likely to include the turbocharged, hybrid-assisted 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine found in the CLA.

This engine can produce up to 188 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque.

The engine, made by Horse Powertrain in China, works with an electric motor connected to the gearbox, allowing the car to run without the engine in certain situations.

The electric version will have two ‘eATS2.0’ motors and an 85kWh NMC battery, aiming for a range of nearly 450 miles based on WLTP standards.

Both the gasoline and electric models will have permanent four-wheel drive and advanced torque vectoring for strong off-road performance.

The Little G will be around 4,400mm long and noticeably shorter than the current G-Class.

It will keep classic design elements such as round headlights, indicators on the wings, and a spare tire mounted on the rear.

Pricing for the UK market has not been confirmed yet.

Production is set to begin in 2027, with the electric version being released first.

This new model aims to provide a blend of the G-Class’s traditional appeal with modern powertrain options to meet a wider range of consumer needs.

AMG CEO Michael Schiebe has confirmed that an electric SUV coupé will join the brand’s growing EV lineup, with a full unveiling planned for the second half of 2027.

The new model will sit alongside a more traditionally styled electric AMG SUV due in early 2027, with both vehicles closely related under the skin.

Each will ride on AMG’s dedicated AMG.EA platform, which also underpins the production version of the GT XX concept.

That architecture brings a round-cell battery design, 800-volt electrical system, and a tri-motor setup featuring one motor at the front and two at the rear, delivering well over 1,000 horsepower.

Speaking ahead of his move to lead Mercedes-Benz’s Top End Vehicle Group, Schiebe made it clear that SUVs are central to AMG’s future.

The body style now accounts for more than half of AMG’s global sales, and the electric SUV coupé is designed to push that momentum further, pairing extreme performance with a more aggressive, sloping roofline than its boxier sibling.

Before either SUV arrives, AMG will reveal its first fully AMG-exclusive electric car later this year. That four-door performance EV, effectively an indirect successor to the AMG GT 4-Door, was previewed by the GT XX concept, which boasted 1,341 horsepower, a claimed 223 mph top speed, and ultra-rapid charging capability.

With active aerodynamics already teased, AMG’s electric era is shaping up to be anything but quiet.

Behind the camouflage of the prototypes, the tri-motor EV delivers over 1,000hp and a staggering 1,300Nm of torque, paired with a circa 120kWh battery promising up to 430 miles of range.

Charging is equally rapid: 200 miles can be replenished in under 15 minutes via the 800-volt system.

At 5.2 metres long and 1.4 metres high, the GT prioritizes balance and poise over straight-line theatrics.

Jaguar engineers have achieved a perfect 50:50 weight distribution, with four battery packs carefully positioned low in the chassis.

With a targeted top speed of 155mph and a starting price between £120,000 and £150,000, the GT promises to compete with high-end EVs while retaining classic Jaguar character.
